| At Camp David, the plans to have Israel give back the Sinai to Egypt were drawn up between president Carter and the two other leaders. It was also agreed that Egypt would recognize Israel. |

| Ayatollah Khomeini toppled the Shah and established an Islamic republic. It was anti western and pro-Islamic. There was no alcohol, women were to wear veils, and there was a strict penial code. |
