France
The Fall of France
Hitler attacked France using the extremely effective Blitzgreig (lightning war fare) The Germans avoided Frances safe guard, the Maginot line, by simply going around it (oops!). Eastern France became German territory and Western France became Hitler's puppet state and was called Vichy France.

Britain
The Battle of Britain
After taking France, Hitler saw that his next logical target was Britain. Afraid of sending his army to Britain (he loved his army), Hitler decided to send his Luftwaffe to bomb specific British targets, specifically airforces and other deffence bases. This proved to work until Britain took the offensive and bombed Berlin, the German capital. This made Hitler paranoid and so he changed the stratagy to bombing of civilian areas. This took the pressure off of the British defences and allowed them more time and equipment to fight back. The Battle of Britain ended with the retreat of Germany.
