Chiang Kai-shek became leader of the Kuomintang (the Chinese government) after the death of Sun. He and his head of propaganda, Mao Tse-tung, went their own political ways, with Mao going to the left and Chiang staying where he was. This is when Ckiang began his crack down of communists and a whole era of Chinese history was set up. |
