A march of 100,000 workers in ST. Petersburgh to protest working conditions to Czar Nicholas II ended in horror when the Czar ordered his troops to open fire on the marchers, thinking that the marhc was the first sign of revolution.

Treaty of Portsmouth
The Treaty of Portsmouth, signed in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, was responsible for the ending of the Russo-Japanese War. The treaty said that Japan had accomplished her goals in Korea and that both Russian and Japanese forces were to pull out of Manchuria.
